Feminewbie (fem-i-new-bee) noun: 1. A raceless, genderless way to identify a person who admits to not knowing everything, but is committed enough to knowledge and justice that they will question everything and fight for the change needed to bring true equality to the world.

I began to shamelessly identify with feminism a little over a year ago. I'm a book worm and documentary-junkie so while I can't precisely pinpoint my conversion, it probably started with learning about the Bechdel Test and cemented with the acid-violence against women in India. Everything in between has only made me more passionate about gender equality, and I hope to highlight them through this blog.

I'm originally from the DC Metropolitan area, but I've been living in Southern Germany for almost four years now. I've traveled all through Europe and made a couple dents in Southeast Asia. Traveling has helped free my mind of many cultural limitations and urged me to challenge social constructs. Currently, I study Anthropology and English and work with children all over the world.
